OUR STORY

Ian's Side of the Story
For those who know me I'm a man of few words..... My buddies asked me if I wanted to go to a bar one night. I walked in and saw this beautiful girl. She was a terrible dancer but I couldn’t take my eyes off of her. We went out for dinner and she ordered a beer. I knew we had something…..

Kelly' s Side of the Story
I first met Ian at Emerald Days in 2010. For those of you not ‘in the know’ with the who’s who and what’s what on the island, Emerald Days is a small country festival where anyone who is anyone in PEI is usually there.
Over the next few years our paths crossed but it wasn’t until April 2014 that we really started talking. After chatting for a bit and me giving him all the signs and wink face emoticons that I could – he still wasn’t getting the hint to ask me out. I wasn’t going to wait any longer so I decided to just ask him out myself. Ian, the ever so cool, so reserved, so eager - quickly replied, ’How about tomorrow?’ He pulled up in his truck and always a gentleman, honked for me to come out. Despite this rocky start to our first date, we had dinner and a drink at the Old Triangle and it was pretty clear that we had great chemistry.
And here’s the part of the story that gets interesting. We started dating in April and by November he was on a flight with the Murphy family to Mexico. Anyone who knows us knows that we take vacation very seriously and so choosing to spend 7 days with Hank and Sue meant this was something special. I decided to introduce Ian to the "Moncton Group" in June at Jill’s (bridesmaid) wedding. He made quite the impression on Moncton with his now infamous dance moves.
By that winter this city girl had traded high heels for a camo print onesie and was attempting to "pull" Christmas trees with the best of them.
June 17th 2015, two days after moving into our first home together, I opened the last moving box and Ian surprised me with a ring and incredible proposal. We haven’t stopped laughing since the day we met and I’m so excited to continue this journey with Ian and share this day with our family and friends!
